Studio62 located at the Blue Bear Inn

The Host:
Lorrie Mailhot

Lorrie, the Innkeeper and Proprietor of the Blue Bear Inn has been a sewing enthusiast and designer since a very early age. Her dream of owning an Inn brought her to Francestown, NH after patiently waiting for something to become available. In addition to owning an Inn, Lorrie wanted to have a space that she could share her love of sewing with others. The Blue Bear Inn provides a dedicated space known as “Studio62” in which she can mentor, teach and enjoy the sewing lifestyle with others. Studio62 is a dedicated retreat space for sewists, quilters, scrapbookers and alike.  With space for up to 12 people you can book and hold your retreat at Studio62.

Why a Sewing Retreat?

Sewing retreats offer a unique and rewarding experience for sewing enthusiasts of all levels. These specialized getaways provide a perfect opportunity for individuals to immerse themselves in their passion for sewing, surrounded by like-minded individuals in a supportive and creative environment.

Participation

At a sewing retreat, participants have the chance to dedicate uninterrupted time to their craft, away from the distractions of daily life. It is a time to focus on honing skills, exploring new techniques, and engaging in hands-on projects. From quilting to garment construction, embroidery to appliqué, sewing retreats cater to a wide range of interests and specialties. Expert instructors and fellow attendees share their knowledge, providing valuable insights, guidance, and inspiration.

A Sense of Community

Beyond the educational aspect, sewing retreats foster a sense of community and camaraderie. Participants bond over their shared love for sewing, exchanging ideas, tips, and stories. These retreats often feature group activities, such as fabric shopping excursions, show-and-tell sessions, and evening gatherings, where participants can relax, socialize, and forge lasting friendships.
